Colombia, South Carolina
International Sushi Day is this Friday, June 18. Yes, it’s true. Each year, a whole day is devoted to sushi. No complaints here.
To make sure you’re ready for International Sushi Day, we’ve picked out a few sushi restaurants in Colombia, so you can start planning your D-Day celebrations.
This is not a complete list of local places to eat sushi and Japanese food, and there is no particular order. Do you have a favorite place that you think we should add to the list? Email Connor Hart at [email protected], and we’ll review it.
700 Gervais Street, Suite A, Columbia, SC 29201
Open everyday from 4 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
The location of the tsunami in the heart of Vista is hard to beat. Its menu includes a wide variety of sushi rolls but also features Japanese tempura, pot stickers, tatakis, hibachi and more. The restaurant also has a full bar, so you can make it a full night out. Visit between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. daily for happy hour to pick up discounted drinks and (a favorite) the three-roll sushi special. Remember that only certain drinks and sushi rolls are eligible for the discount. There are more locations in Harbison, North Charleston and Mount Pleasant. (Promotions may differ at these locations.)
224 O’Neil Court, Suite 9, Columbia, SC 29223
Inakaya is a bit further from downtown than the other restaurants on this list (about a 20-minute drive from downtown), but well worth a visit. Tripadvisor Currently ranks Inakaya as the best sushi in Colombia, so it’s safe to say it’s a favorite of many. The restaurant offers a variety of traditional Japanese dishes, and you’re sure to find something on the menu that you like.

Don’t be fooled by its unpretentious exterior – Minato is the real deal. The small take-out restaurant offers a variety of house specialties, soups and (of course) sushi which are all delicious. On top of all that, you can’t beat the prices: a three-reel special costs $ 6.95 and a five-reel special costs $ 10.50. (However, these promotions exclude specialty sushi rolls.)

Located in Five Points, a short walk from Insomnia Cookies, you can go straight from dinner to dessert. Its proximity to the USC campus makes it a great place for college students, but its delicious sushi makes it a great option for anyone who fancies it. SakiTumi is called “Colombia’s best kept secret” because, although it is right in the middle of Vista, you have to search a little to find it. The restaurant does not face the street, you have to go around the back of the building. However, once you find it, it’s worth the search!
The restaurant menu is creative and huge. There’s something for everyone, from adventurous foodies (is anyone else really interested in trying a âSushi Burrito?â) To those who prefer a more standard option (think California roll). Tripadvisor ranks SakiTumi as the third best sushi restaurant in Colombia. And did we mention that the restaurant also has a full bar? What more could you ask for?
1999 N. Beltline Blvd., Columbia, SC 29204
Sato is located near Forest Acres and is the perfect place to go out for an awesome lunch or dinner. Some of the steak dishes are more expensive, but many of the restaurant’s sushi and hibachi options are more affordable. Red Sake offers an all-you-can-eat lunch for just $ 12.99 that will satisfy even the hungriest who come to visit us. The restaurant menu offers a large selection of soups, owls, sushi and more. However, if you go for the all-you-can-eat option, keep in mind that you will be charged for any food not eaten, so try not to order too much to eat at one time. Either way, it will be hard not to enjoy your visit.
