The popular Chinese restaurant Poughkeepsie is closed and renamed
A popular Chinese restaurant in the town of Poughkeepsie recently closed and a new restaurant opened in its place.
Living in the town of Poughkeepsie for a few years now, you know there are plenty of options for Chinese food. I love my Chinese food! When I had a spot in the Luckey Platt building, I had a favorite spot for years that was right across the street. It was not only convenient, but it was one of the best Chinese around.
Delicious Asian cuisine
I often picked up Chinese food to go from Yummy Asian Cuisine at 313 Main St. in Poughkeepsie. Sometimes I even had dinner with friends there before a rock concert at The Chance down the street. Whether it was General Tso’s Chicken, Garlic Beef, or Garlic Prawns, served with a few dumplings, the food was always on point at Yummy Asian Cuisine, and I was never disappointed. As I was walking down Main Street the other afternoon, I noticed that Yummy was gone.
Ginza Sushi and Cajun Seafood have arrived
I was surprised to see that instead of Yummy Asian Cuisine, there was now Ginza. I was sad for a second because I thought back to my good memories of Yummy, but my sadness quickly turned to excitement! Given that I love sushi and all seafood, this felt like a win for me and many other area residents. And free sodas? Let’s go!
I stopped and spoke to the woman at the register who I assume might have been the owner and asked what had happened to Yummy Asian Cuisine and she informed me that the business had was sold about a month ago, and it is now Ginza. I politely asked for a menu and assured him that I would be back soon to check it out. Being a few blocks away from me, it’s nice to have another dining option in town. We wish the owners of Ginza Sushi and Cajun Seafood all the best and much success.
There are already plenty of sushi restaurants in the Poughkeepsie area, check out some of the best.
