A standalone bar will serve signature Japanese cocktails, non-alcoholic and non-alcoholic options, a selection of whiskey, sake and umeshu, as well as brewed beers and authentic highballs.

Sam Horswill, Chief Operating Officer at KIBOU, said: “We are delighted to continue our expansion journey for the KIBOU brand with the launch of a new site in Solihull this spring.

“Following the successful opening of KIBOU Clifton last October, these are exciting times for the brand, with further acquisitions planned for the next 12 months and a period of sustained growth expected over the next five years.

“The new site will be led by an accomplished Managing Director, Justin Davies, who currently co-manages our flagship site in Cheltenham and is extremely well placed to oversee the launch and recruit a local team around him.

“We can’t wait to bring our vibrant, contemporary slice of Japan to the West Midlands and be part of the bustling and historic town of Solihull.”

The Solihull site will be KIBOU’s fourth restaurant, due to open in April this year, following a complete overhaul and refurbishment of the vacant unit, which is due to start shortly.

Its décor will mirror KIBOU’s existing restaurants in Battersea, Cheltenham and Clifton in London – with opulent Japanese print textiles and brightly colored wall coverings.

The new restaurant will also feature fascinating murals and projector animations created by Gloucestershire artist Martyna Sabadasz.

With 70 seats inside the venue, the restaurant will feature a range of dining areas as well as a marble bar and open sushi kitchen with elevated seating.

Another 25 seats will be located on a Japanese-inspired outdoor terrace.
