NoLo tempts the group Endeavor

NoLo alcohol products represent five of the ten fastest growing sub-categories for Endeavor Group’s retail business, according to its FY22 results.

Entering its first full year as an independent publicly traded company, Endeavor Group’s net profit after tax (NPAT) was $495 million, up 11.2%, while sales were flat at year over year to $11.6 billion.

The group said the backdrop of continued Covid impacts, severe weather events, crew shortages and supply chain disruptions was a challenging environment.

The increase in group EBIT of 2.8% is due to the partial recovery of the Hotels segment and the solid performance of Retail.

Retail sales were $10.1 billion, down slightly from FY21, but up 19.3% from FY19. The FY22 figures reflect a “return to normal” after a period of high figures due to Covid-related site closures.

Growth in spirits and premixes was a highlight, with seltzers having an impact. Over the past three years, sales in these categories have increased by more than 40%.

Meanwhile, NoLo products made up five of the ten fastest growing subcategories, he said.

The Group’s achievements include the acquisition of five new hotels and the completion of 20 renewals, while in the Retail Drinks network the completion of 81 store renewals and the acquisition of 32 new stores.

The group also established a Darwin Community Advisory Committee made up of local community leaders to research ways to reduce the harms of alcohol abuse and problem gambling in the area. It has partnered with DrinkWise Australia and its research into NoLo alcohol options to moderate drinking. And a “Leading in Responsibility” team training module was rolled out to 92% of staff.

In FY22, Endeavor also established its emissions baseline and began its climate disclosures using the Task Force on Climate-related Disclosure framework. Solar panels are now installed at 104 sites.
