Japanese Auto Extravaganza returns to the Norfolk Showground

From the cars on display at the campsite, here’s everything you need to know before the Japanese Auto Extravaganza (JAE) festival at the Norfolk Showground.

What are the dates and times?

JAE is a four-day festival, which runs from Thursday August 12 at 3 p.m. until Sunday August 15 at the Norfolk Showground in New Costessey (NR5 0TT).

What is the context of the JAE festival?

2021 marks JAE’s 30th anniversary and over the years thousands of dedicated car fans have attended.

The event draws oil enthusiasts from across the UK and Europe, with hundreds of Japanese cars on display.

What can people expect?

Participants can expect everything from sports cars to retro imports, with around 50 car clubs involved each year.

There will also be bumper car rides, a shopping village and a Show and Shine contest.

Local auto dealers SLM Toyota and Holden Honda will also showcase their current model lines.

On Saturday evening there will be a fantastic fireworks display.

Is there camping at JAE?

Yes, three nights of camping cost £ 45 per person when purchased in advance.

There will be three different areas, depending on whether the customer is exhibiting a Japanese car, a non-Japanese car, or if they just want to camp out and soak up the atmosphere.

What food and drink will be available?

There will be a number of food vendors, with offerings including burgers, hot dogs, and the local Hoggies team will be making a roast pork.

The Hope Coffee Company, also based in Norfolk, will be in attendance and the Nags Head Horse Bar will serve a range of drinks.

How much do the tickets cost?

Camping tickets Thursday through Sunday are £ 45, Friday through Sunday £ 40, and Saturday through Sunday £ 35.

Tickets for Saturday are £ 15, Sunday £ 10 and children under 14 are free when accompanying a paying adult.

The JAE team also distributed more than 300 free camping tickets to key workers and provides free trade space for all businesses that have been affected by the coronavirus.
