DoorDash alcohol delivery now available in the US, Canada and Australia, guidelines revealed
DoorDash can now deliver hard liquor to your door. The delivery service partnered with GPM Investments LLC, a leading Virginia-based convenience store operator, in August.
Now, the delivery service is expanding its program and will deliver ciders, wines, seltzer and beers in Canada and Australia.
DoorDash for delivering alcohol
The program will allow customers to request hard liquors of various premium, value and imported brands. Customers can buy between a minimum of 1 drink and a maximum of 24 formats.
Brands participating in the program include Apple Market, Scotchman, Fas Mart and Roadrunner Markets, according to TechCrunch.
The program began in the United States when Virginia-based store giant GPM Investments LLC decided to use DoorDash to improve the experience for its customers.

DoorDash has received incredible feedback since its introduction, which is why this is the delivery service that GPM Investments has decided to use, according to company category manager Jim Rastetter.
GMP began the partnership with DoorDash in July 2020, and the company offers convenience and grocery delivery through the delivery service’s app and website.
In the United States, the service is available in 600 locations in 19 states. Customers can shop at several retail stores such as EZ Mart, Next Door Stores, Village Pantry, Town Star, Fas Mart, Roadrunner Markets, Scotchman, Admiral, Breadbox, Jiffi Stop, Young’s Li’l Cricket, 1-Stop , Shore Stop, and the Apple Market.
DoorDash’s grocery and convenience partnership manager Mike Goldblatt said they have decided to allow alcohol delivery to the United States, Australia and Canada as part of their partnership with GPM Investments. .
The delivery company aims to connect consumers with several local and national businesses. It operates in more than 4,000 cities in Canada, Japan, Australia and all 50 states of the United States, as reported by CSNews.
The company has suffered its fair share of controversy. In 2020, DoorDash was sued by a group of New Yorkers for its fees at the height of the pandemic.

GPM Investments is based in Richmond, Virginia, and is a subsidiary of ARKO Corp. The company operates and supplies stores in 33 states. It is considered the sixth-largest convenience store chain in the country, with more than 3,000 locations, including 1,400 stores and 1,625 dealer locations.
Guidelines for the use of alcohol
Before delivering alcohol to your door, customers must be 21 years of age or older. They will need to present their valid driver’s license. In Canada, the legal age for alcohol consumption is 19.
In addition to a valid driver’s license, customers can also present a valid passport or ID issued by the United States Armed Forces showing the customer’s name, description, date of birth and photo, according to DoorDash.
Customers will also be checked for any signs of intoxication. The delivery person will check for physical and behavioral signs of poisoning.
If the customer has bloodshot or glassy eyes or cannot keep their eyes open and smells of alcohol, your order will not be delivered.
Customers will also be observed appropriately. If they cannot walk straight or if they are fumbling with objects, the delivery person will take this as a sign that the customer is intoxicated.
